UberChic Beauty Zombie Love-01 Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Is anyone else absolutely dying for the new season of The Walking Dead to start (while being disappointed in the spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead)?  Lucky for us Walking Dead fans, UberChic Beauty has a stamping plate just for us called Zombie Love.  I purchased this plate (but didn't pay for shipping so I'm still calling it a "press sample") and thought I'd post a couple of manis I did with it before the new season starts in case anyone else is in need of ideas.  The first one is a stamping re-do of one of my most viewed posts ever and the second one is slightly more general zombie (with the exception of the silhouette that I assume is everyone's favourite character).  Keep reading for all the details...

The Zombie Love-01 plate was released a few weeks ago but, for those of you that haven't seen it yet, here's a scan of the plate I received.  I personally think of it as a Walking Dead plate because there are a few images that are definite references to the show but, even if you're not a fan of the show, you could easily enjoy this plate.  Most of the images aren't show-specific but, rather, fall into the general zombie/horror category.  I might be a little twisted because I particularly love the brain and heart images.  I'm such a biologist!  And I'm going to have to learn how to stamp straight lines because I definitely need to use that biohazard image too.

Now for the manis - this one is the new and improved version of this mani of mine from almost two years ago.  I tried to dig out the same polishes for the base (with the exception of the black since I don't have that one anymore) and do everything the same except that I got to use stamping instead of freehanding it.

I even made the bloody nails with a decal of the splatter image from the plate but, because Ravishing, Dahling is a pretty dark jelly red, you can't see the black detail.  Since everything is matted with Essie Matte About You, I had to make the drops shiny again with a dotting tool and HK Girl top coat.  It created some bubbles but that just adds to the effect...right?

The other thing I changed was what I put on my thumb.  I love the handprint image from the plate so I double stamped it with Mundo de Unas Red and then Black.

For the second mani I used a Halloween polish from China Glaze called I Love Your Guts that I bought last year.  I think this might be the first time I've used it which was silly because it's really cool.  This is two coats stamped with the multiple brain image using Mundo de Unas Pink.

Since I work in a neurobiology lab I think just plain brain nails are pretty cool but, to make it more zombie-like, I stamped the zombie silhouettes and Darryl and his crossbow with Mundo de Unas Black and then topped it all with HK Girl.

For this one on my thumb I added the "He wants me for my brains" wording just because I think it's hilarious (and because I secretly hope to find me a fella who wants me for my brains...but not in the lunchtime way)!

If you're interested in this plate, you can find it with the link below.  There should still be enough time for you to get it before the show starts!
